In my recipe, I described how to prepare “Honey Hill,” an oriental sweet. This dessert is familiar to many, because it can be called “Chak-chak” in another way. A real oriental sweet.

How to cook "Honey Hill"
Place the honey in a water bath. Stirring, bring it to a thick state.
In a bowl, beat eggs and milk until smooth.
Add flour to the mixture and knead the dough.
Roll out the dough into a layer. Cut it into strips 0.5 cm wide.
Divide the strips into pieces 2-3 cm long. Fry them in oil until golden brown.

This interesting and unusual culinary masterpiece came to us from the East. There they call it chak-chak, consider it exclusively festive and serve it only for large feasts. Our housewives interpreted it a little, and the result was an unusual honey slide, the recipe of which still includes all the main ingredients - aromatic honey, flour, eggs and milk.
Secrets and little tricks
Deep-fried strips of dough, then beautifully arranged and always filled with sweet syrup - this is a honey slide. The recipe (with a photo of the finished result) includes some nuances that make this dish as tasty as possible.
- It is not necessary to knead the dough yourself; you can buy it at the store. Housewives often use its trimmings for these purposes, of which there is a lot left after preparing pasties or other similar products.
- The deep fat should be heated gradually, over low heat, so that the thin, tender strips do not overcook.
- The filling is prepared without water; only honey and sugar are used in equal quantities.

Preparation
The recipe for the “Honey Hill” cake with custard or boiled condensed milk is an excellent dessert option for all occasions: a birthday or a meeting of old friends, a family feast or a treat for colleagues. It is very simple to prepare, and most importantly - fast.
- Eggs need to be beaten into foam until a light yellow tint appears.
- Then add sugar and soda and continue beating for about 5 minutes.
- Gradually add liquid honey and sour cream to the egg mixture (1-2 tablespoons at a time). If the honey is not liquid, then it should be heated in advance in a water bath, and then cooled to room temperature. Continue beating the mixture until it becomes homogeneous and smooth.
- Also add sifted flour into the bowl with the mixture, spoonful at a time, stirring with a mixer at low speed.
- Pour the finished dough into a prepared baking dish (greased and sprinkled with flour).
- Place the cake in an oven preheated to 220° and bake for about 40 minutes (depend on the power of your oven; in some cases you need to reduce either the time or the temperature).
The readiness of the cake is checked with a toothpick; if after a puncture there are no traces of raw dough left on it, then you can remove the pan from the oven.
Carefully transfer the cake from the pan to a wire rack, cool, and then cut it into three thin cake layers. Set one aside (it will be the base of the cake), cut the other two into large cubes.
- To prepare the cream, you need to boil condensed milk in advance (you can use ready-made boiled milk), then beat it, gradually adding creamy or fruity yogurt.
- Line a deep bowl or dome-shaped mold with cling film.
- Dip pieces of cake one at a time into the cream and place in the mold until it is full.
- Sprinkle the remaining cake with butter or coffee liqueur (or cognac) and place on top of the creamed pieces.
- Cover the top with film, press down lightly, and place in the refrigerator for several hours.
- When the “Honey Hill” is ready, remove the film, cover the mold with a flat plate and carefully turn it over.
- Remove the mold and any remaining film and serve, optionally garnished with honey or chocolate pieces.
Instead of condensed milk-based cream, you can take any other one: custard, sour cream, cream, the main thing is that it should be liquid, but harden well.
“Honey slide” with nuts
A completely different “Honey Hill” cake is prepared according to a recipe based on the popular dessert chak-chak. Kids especially love this delicacy, so it’s definitely worth preparing for a birthday or other children’s holiday.
- To make such a simple but very tasty cake, you need to mix about a glass of flour with eggs (3-4 pcs.), knead the dough into a smooth one and roll it out thinly.
- The layer should lie for 10-15 minutes, dry slightly, after which it should be rolled into a tight roll and cut into strips.
- Fry the dough sticks in a pre-heated frying pan in a large amount of vegetable oil.
- When golden and crispy, transfer to a paper towel to drain excess fat.
- Make syrup separately: mix about 200 g of honey with 2 tbsp in a saucepan. l. water and sugar, put on low heat and, stirring constantly, bring until thickened.
- Place the fried dough sticks into the prepared syrup and mix gently; at this stage you can add crushed nuts to the mixture.
Place the straws soaked in honey syrup in the form of a slide on a flat dish, lightly pressing with hands moistened with water. Place the collected Honey Hill in the refrigerator for several hours, and when it hardens, you can serve it.
