What is added to these sweets?

To make jellies at home, you can use any berries, fruits and even vegetables. Carrots or pumpkin are ideal. When making treats, you should take into account the amount of pectin in berries and fruits. The more of this component, the less gelatin is required. This also applies to granulated sugar. If the fruit is sweet, then you should add less. The amount of sugar can be varied depending on your own preferences.

Jelly candies at home can be made not only from a certain type of fruit, but also from a mixture. The treat can also be chocolate or milk. Candied fruits, fruit puree or juice are often added to such sweets. If desired, the delicacy can be made into any shape, multi-layered and even covered with glaze. Silicone molds are used to make jelly candies.

Pumpkin candies

The recipe for homemade jelly sweets is quite simple. To prepare this delicacy you only need a few ingredients. To make pumpkin candies, you need to have on hand:

  • 1 kg pumpkin pulp.
  • 1 kg regular sugar.
  • About 4 glasses of water.

Food preparation

So, how to make jelly candies at home? First you need to prepare the pumpkin. It is recommended to peel the vegetable and then cut it into small cubes. The chopped pumpkin should be transferred to a saucepan, and then pour in 0.5 kg of granulated sugar. The vegetable should be left under sugar for 8 hours. During this period, the pumpkin will release juice. The container should be placed on low heat. Its contents must be boiled. After this, the pumpkin should be left for several hours to cool.

Make syrup from the remaining sugar and water. To do this, combine the components in a saucepan and put on fire. Half of the water should boil away. The finished syrup should be cooled and then added to the container with the pumpkin. The mixture must be brought to a boil and then removed from the heat. The mixture should be left for 10 hours.

Final stage

It takes quite a long time to prepare jellies at home. When the pumpkin has cooled, you need to drain the sugar syrup and then boil it for 20 minutes, preferably over low heat. Then the vegetable pieces need to be filled with liquid again. It is recommended to repeat the procedure until the syrup becomes thick enough. You can add a little orange essence to it for flavor. Carefully remove the pumpkin pieces from the container using a fork and dry them. It is recommended to store the finished treat in a glass container in the refrigerator.

Peach candies

To prepare the treat you will need:

  • Granulated sugar - 400 g.
  • Peaches - 400 g.
  • Lemon juice - about 1 spoon.
  • Liquid pectin - 3 large spoons.

Cooking process

Peaches must be crushed into puree. The mass should be passed through a sieve. This will remove the peel. In a deep saucepan, mix the puree, 100 grams of sugar and lemon juice. The mixture must be brought to a boil and cooked for 15 minutes over low heat. The liquid should completely evaporate.

After this, add pectin and remaining sugar to the container. While stirring the mixture, increase the heat under the pan. You need to cook the delicacy for about 10 minutes. The mass should be quite thick. The mixture must be poured into prepared forms and cooled. Jelly candies are ready. If one large mold was used to prepare the delicacy, then its contents should be cut into portioned pieces.

It's hard to find a person who doesn't like candy. From early childhood, sweets are constantly present in our lives, filling it with delicious content. Chocolates, regular caramel, lollipops and toffees are all familiar to us. However, all this confectionery splendor will not be complete without remembering marmalade.

The confectionery product, created through the efforts of the French, received its further development in Italy, where jelly was transformed into a full-fledged, complete confectionery product - marmalade. A little later, as a derivative of marmalade, jelly sweets appeared, a confectionery product that was especially popular with children.

The basis for making jelly sweets is the method of making marmalade. The difference lies in the formation of small portions, convenient for one-time use. Using fruit and berry juices boiled with sugar, a thickener and various flavoring additives, at home you can prepare a delicious sweet product - marmalade, cut it into the right pieces and turn it into candy.

Pectin, gelatin or agar-agar are usually used as a thickener. The modern confectionery industry uses mainly pectin for the production of jelly sweets, a component that provides confectionery products with greater density and elasticity.

In order to create jelly treats at home, gelatin will be enough. Unlike store-bought packaging, such candies will meet the strictest culinary requirements and safety standards. The confectionery products we make ourselves are pleasant to look at and completely safe to eat.

You can prepare a delicacy at home from those products that are already in the refrigerator. Every housewife has jam or frozen berries. Purified fruit juices and milk are perfect. Jelly candies are usually made in different colors, so during the preparation process you can use sweet and sour juices in various combinations. Multilayer marmalade looks very original and has excellent taste.

The advantage of natural fruit and berry juices is that they allow you to make natural jelly, without harmful dyes and flavors. We use gelatin as a thickener. The texture of the treat depends on the amount of gelatin used. Through simple experiments, you can learn how to create sweets with a soft texture, or achieve products with a denser consistency.

The recipe for making jelly sweets is as follows:

  • gelatin, purified - 2 teaspoons;
  • half a glass of cold water;
  • 150 ml. fruit and berry juice;
  • 300 g sugar.

Cooking process

If you want to prepare jelly candies in several layers, use different juices in appropriate proportions. Those. We prepare several types of sugar syrup. Preparation begins with preparing gelatin, which is soaked in cold water.

Prepare the syrup in a separate bowl. Pour out our juice and add sugar. Cook for 10 minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved, then pour the swollen gelatin into the container, mixing everything thoroughly. The cooking time is 10-15 minutes, without active boiling and with constant stirring. The more liquid boils away, the thicker the candies will be.

At home, the issue of preparing molds for future sweets is more difficult, so we pour the finished jelly into a baking dish. You need to line the bottom of the mold with foil to make the finished jelly easier to remove. It is important that the thickness of the jelly layer does not exceed 3-4 cm. Let the jelly cool until the mass has completely hardened. Take the resulting marmalade out of the mold and cut into neat pieces. If desired, cut pieces of marmalade can be rolled in coconut flakes or dipped in hot chocolate, making the jellies even tastier.

Multilayer jelly candies are made in the same way, only an order of magnitude longer. It will take time to prepare the syrup with each new component, after which each new layer is poured into the prepared form in turn. We give the finished layer time to harden, after which we fill in the next layer, and so on in order, layer by layer.

Ready-made sweets are served on a platter or in a candy bowl.

To make jelly sweets at home, prepare the ingredients according to the list.

Prepare a container for cooling the jelly mass - line it with baking paper, grease with oil and sprinkle with coconut flakes.

Sprinkle frozen berries with sugar and defrost. I had a mixture of strawberries (200 g), raspberries (200 g) and black currants (1 handful), but one type of berry is enough.

In order to speed up the process, you can defrost the berries in the microwave or place the container with the berries in a water bath.

Grind the resulting mixture of berries, juice and sugar to a puree.

Pour the resulting fruit puree into a saucepan. Add lemon juice and instant gelatin.

Heat the mixture over low heat for several minutes, stirring constantly, until the gelatin and sugar dissolve. If necessary, you can bring the mixture almost to a boil and immediately turn off the heat.

When the gelatin has dissolved, turn off the heat and cool the mixture to a temperature of 36-37 degrees. To make sure the mixture has cooled sufficiently, place a drop of the fruit mixture on your hand. If it is not felt on the skin, the temperature is correct.

Beat the mixture with a mixer for 8-10 minutes until it lightens and doubles in volume.

Pour the mixture into the prepared container and place in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours for final cooling.

Once the mixture has cooled and completely set, remove it from the mold.

Pour boiling water over the knife blade, blot it with a napkin and cut the jelly mass into pieces of the desired size. If desired, roll the resulting candies in powdered sugar. Store candy in the refrigerator in an airtight container.

Jelly candies are ready! Bon appetit!

The candies prepared according to this recipe are elastic, but quite delicate in taste. Their texture is reminiscent of bird's milk candies, only a little denser. If you want a more “rubbery” result, like, for example, gummy bears, you can slightly increase the amount of gelatin and skip the whisking step.

But if you study their composition, your hair will stand on end with horror - they are full of various chemicals that certainly do not bring any benefit to the little man.

And they are not at all useful for adults. Therefore, it is better to prepare this delicacy at home using proven ingredients. The recipes are simple and can be modified to suit your taste. These recipes are for children and for the whole family.

Pour 12 teaspoons of powdered gelatin into a saucepan, add 100 ml of cold water and set aside for ten minutes.

Then put everything on low heat and heat until the gelatin dissolves.

At the same time, in another pan, heat 100 ml of the selected fruit syrup (do not forget to check its composition when choosing a syrup; it is best, of course, homemade).

Then you just need to mix both liquids and pour them into molds (silicone ones are ideal).

When the liquid has cooled, place the molds in the refrigerator for a couple of hours to harden.

You can use syrups of different colors - it will make a great treat for a child's birthday.

Recipe for gelatinous candies made from juice

Pour gelatin in the same amount as in the case of syrup into 200 ml of the selected juice and set aside for ten minutes. Then heat it until it dissolves and add sugar or honey to taste.

If the juice is sweet enough, this won't be necessary. After perfect dissolution, pour the liquid into the molds, let cool and place in the refrigerator.

Pour a glass of berries into a saucepan, pour in a glass of orange juice and heat over low heat with a lid until they are softened. Beat everything until smooth.

Add eight tablespoons of gelatin, heat, stir and leave for about ten minutes. Pour into molds, cool and place in the refrigerator to set.

  • If you do not have suitable molds, you can pour the hot liquid into a glass, and after cooling and hardening, dump it and cut it into cubes, circles or rectangles.
  • Sweets are best stored in the refrigerator. Those who do not like gelatin or refuse any animal products can use agar instead, which can also achieve excellent results.
  • Sweets can be made healthy by adding some vitamin or herbal extract to the given recipes.
