Oblivion ancient wine walkthrough. TES IV: Oblivion, Alchemy, Cyrodiil Spirits. Origin of the Gray Prince

Passage of quests of settlements 18755

The next task is quite difficult and without precise instructions where to go, it is problematic to complete it. This task is given to you by the mistress of the tavern "Vaunet" named Nerussa. The tavern is located to the west of the Imperial City just behind the bridge connecting the city to the mainland. Nerussa asks you to get 6 bottles of "Wine of Expelling Shadows" to replenish her collection of wines. She will certainly tell you where you can find this wine, but the range of searches will be quite extensive. In fact, this is any fort in the province, and there are approximately 50 of them, but the wine that she asks to bring is not in every fort. I’ll make a small clarification right away, this wine is always found only in chests. Next, I will give a list of forts where "Shadowbanishing Wine" can be found and the location of these forts:

1. Fort Vulture is located east of Bravil, on a small island near the confluence of the Silver Fish River with the Niben River. The chest with wine is outside the fort at the very top, to enter the fort, turn the inconspicuous lever below to the left of the door. This fort is also part of the "Hunting" quest, which you can get in Bravil from Urasanna Losh.

2. Fort Aurus is located not far north of Fort Grif on the right bank of the Niben River.

3. Fort Dirich is about halfway between Chorrol and Skingrad, but slightly west of both.

4. Fort Vlastarus is located east of Skingrad, a little south of the Golden Route.

5. Fort Magia is located east of the Imperial City, on the banks of the Niben River, next to the Red Ring Road.

6. Fort Karmala is south of Chorrol.

7. Fort Tabernacle is located southeast of Chaidenhall

8. Fort Irony (Fort Irony i.e. Iron, you need to kill the translator) is located southeast of Bravil, on the left bank of the Niben River.

There is a small note to everything written, the fact is that in each chest there are two bottles of wine at once, so you will have to bypass not six forts, but only three. The chests in which the wine is located are the most ordinary in appearance, they have the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped (matchbox), i.e. their lids are flat and rectangular. The color of the chests is dark brown and they are not locked with any kind of lock. You collect the required amount of wine, although if you are not too lazy, you can find more bottles, they will not be superfluous and return to the tavern owner Nerussa. She will give you 1000 gold for six bottles of wine, and she will also tell you that if you find more similar bottles of wine, she will gladly buy them from you. For each subsequent bottle of Wine of Exorcism, she will pay you 100 gold. At this point, the task is considered completed.

  1. Speak with Nerussa, owner of the Waunet Tavern in Vaye Village.
  2. Find the requested six bottles of Shadowbanishing Wine.
  3. Return to Nerussa for your reward.
Description

Nerussa

Head to the village of Vaye, which is located west of the main bridge to the Imperial City. Speak with Nerussa, owner of the Waunet Inn. She is looking for rare, exquisite wines, and will ask you to collect six bottles of Shadowbanishing Wine, which can be found in some old fort ruins throughout Cyrodiil.

Nerussa and the last 16 bottles of shadow-banishing wine

If you happen to find a bottle of this wine before talking to Nerussa, then that will also start the quest.

wine search

Shadowbanishing Wine was made specifically for the Imperial Legion and has some magical properties; specifically, it acts as a long-term potion of the Night Eye. The bottles you are looking for will be located in the chests found in the eight forts. Each chest contains two bottles of wine, so you need to find at least three chests. However, since they respawn, it is possible to get all six bottles from one chest.

Forts:

  • Fort Aurus is a small fort northeast of Bravil, across the Nibenay Bay.
  • Fort Karmala is a small fort between Chorrol and Skingrad that is inhabited by vampires.
  • Fort Dirich is a small fort between Chorrol and Skingrad that is inhabited by the undead.
  • Grif Fort is a medium fort northeast of Bravil containing NPCs.
  • Fort Ironia - A small fort southeast of Bravil containing goblins.
  • Fort Magia is a medium fort east of the Imperial City containing the undead.
  • Tabernacle Fort - A medium fort east of Cheydinhal containing marauders and undead.
  • Fort Vlastarus - A small fort east of Skingrad containing vampires.
  • Frostcrag Spire is a tower east of Bruma that is home to magical characters. Contains one bottle in storage in a wine rack (does not respawn).
  • Battlehorn Castle is a large castle west of Chorrol that can be won by defeating attacking marauders. Contains one bottle in the wine cellar (does not respawn).

Reward

Return to the tavern and give the six bottles of Shadowbanishing Wine to Nerussa. As a reward, you will receive 1000 gold. She will also inform you that she will pay 100 gold for each additional bottle of such wine you bring.

Notes

You can also sell Shadowbanish Wine to other merchants (but at a lower price). You can get more wine from the forts listed above.

The wine is described as "made in one tiny batch", however an infinite supply is available as it reappears.
- [PC] Only a limited supply of wine is available in the Unofficial Oblivion Patch.

20 Nerussa, an innkeeper at the Waunet Inn near the Imperial City, is looking for a rare wine called Shadowbanishing Wine. She says that such wine is sometimes found in the ruins of forts. She promised to pay well if I delivered six bottles of this unusual drink to her. It looks like it's worth it, you need to look into both eyes ...
30 I managed to get six bottles of the Wine of Exorcism. You need to take them to Nerussa in the tavern "Vaunet" and get a reward.
100 Nerussa received six bottles of the Wine of Exorcism. She generously rewarded me by giving me a thousand gold coins. In addition, she said that she would gladly pay 100 gold for each bottle if I came across the same wine again.

Notes

  • Not all entries may appear in your Quest Diary; which entries appear and which do not appear depends on how the task is performed.
  • Stages are not always in order of passing. This usually refers to quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks can be completed in random order.
  • A checkmark in the "KZ" (End of Task) column means that the task disappears from the list of active ones, but you can still get new entries for it.
  • You can use the console to progress through the quest by entering the code setstage SQ08 stage , where stage is the number of the stage you want to complete. Note that it is not possible to cancel (i.e. go back) the quest stages. See SetStage for more information.

Notes.
To find the locations below, it is most convenient to use the interactive map of Cyrodiil

There are two ways to get this quest.

First. Not far from the Ayleid ruins of Nenyond Twyll, you can come across an ogre, naturally aggressive. After killing him and searching the body, you will find six unusual potatoes with zero weight (Jumbo Potato).

Second. Speak with the Khajiit S "Jirra", a guest at the Faregyll Inn south of the Imperial City. She complains that someone stole her entire supply of giant potatoes, which she needs to make her famous potato bread. The thieves fled to the west. Your task is to find the sly ogre and reward the villain with what he deserves.

Return S "Jirra her precious potatoes, and the happy cat will thank you with her famous pastries. The number of buns received as a reward depends on the level of the hero. If you wish, you can then buy this bread from the Khajiit for 25 septims.

Right outside the gates of Leyawiin you will meet Lerexus Callidus. The Legion Guard will tell you that the Greyland settlement is the source of the drug trade in the region. He tried many times to put an end to criminal activity, but whenever he approaches, the skooma dealers are alerted and have time to retreat. Nobody knows you, so there is a chance to take the villains by surprise. You should deal with Kylius Lonavo and bring his ring to Lerexus.

Kailius' house is literally a few steps from the gate. Dunmer is not alone there, he also has an assistant. Kill both and take the ring. Returning to the customer, you will receive a cash reward. Its size depends on the level of the hero.

First. Exploring the Exhausted Mine, you will deal with a certain number of goblins. Among the things of the leader (Goblin Netherboss) you will come across a jade amulet with the inscription "For Kayleen" ("For Kayleen").

Second. When you visit the settlement of Harm's Folly ("Harm's Caprice"), you will meet a Breton named Corrick Northwode. During his absence, the goblins attacked his house and killed his wife, after which they hid in the Exhausted Mine nearby. He asks to avenge the death of his wife and bring her jade amulet.Go to the mine, cut out everything alive there and get a commemorative decoration.

Return the amulet to Korrik, and he will repay you with gold that he once mined in this very mine. The size of the reward depends on the level of the hero.

Note. The quest is one of the "buggy". The official patch (starting from 1.1) should "fix" the bug, although there is evidence that the quest still sometimes doesn't work correctly.

You can get this quest in two ways.

First. Exploring the Bramblepoint Cave (Blackberry Glade), you will come across Lithnilian's Research Notes. They mention that the scientist visits the Imperial Bridge tavern.

Second. Visiting the Imperial Bridge Tavern southeast of the Imperial City, on the banks of the Silverfish River, you will meet Altmer Lithnilian. He will ask you to find his research notes on the Welkynd stones he lost in Bramblepoint Cave. Go to a three-tiered cave, leveled mythical animals will interfere with your search. In the deep part, in the chest, you will find the notes you are looking for.

For your efforts, the Altmer will reward you with several potions. To put it bluntly, the reward for risk is not enough at all.

After visiting the Roxey Inn, which is north of the Imperial City on the Red Ring Road, talk to its owner, Malena (Malene). She will complain that the necromancer Raelynn the Gravefinder, who has settled nearby, is scaring off visitors, and will ask to get rid of her unwanted neighbor.

Head to the Moss Rock Cavern north of the tavern. A number of undead and necromancers hang around there, including Reileen. The level of the lady is 4 higher than the level of the hero.

Having dealt with the witch, go for a legitimate reward - a sum of money depending on the level of the hero.

If you are between Skingrad and Kvatch, you can go to the Shardrock Farm. Thorley Aethelred, who lives there, complains about predators haunting herds of sheep. He asks you to kill six West Weald Bears and bring him their fangs.

Stock up on a life detection spell and take your horse away. Bears roam near the farm, but despite their size, they are not easy to spot in the tall grass. Destroy the animals, turn in your teeth and get a book (one of 6 potential ones) as a reward, reading which increases one of the combat skills.

Northeast of Kvatch is Shetcomb Farm. Entering this farm abandoned by the owner and examining the premises, you will find a page from the diary of Slyte Seringi. After reading it, you will learn that Slythe witnessed the attack on Kvatch, he decided that this was the work of some angry deity - The Sunken One, who lives nearby. The hero worries about the fate of the writer and wishes to inspect the Sandstone Cavern.

Find mythical creatures in the cave - from demons and spriggans to ogres, you will find the second page from the diary. It is clear that Slythe's journey proved dangerous. Indeed, in the depths of the cave you will find the body of the poor fellow and a bag with offerings - some gold, stones and nuggets. You will learn from the third page of the diary that the last thought of the unfortunate pilgrim was regret that now he will not be able to save Tamriel.

Who is The Sunken One? Without having time to read the page, you will find the answer to this question. The atronach will cut off the road to the exit, you will have to deal with the "deity".

You can get this quest in two ways.

First. As you travel through the forts of Cyrodiil, you may come across the strange Shadowbanish Wine. Probably, someone needs it, but who?

Second. Speak to Nerussa, the owner of the Wawnet Inn, east of the Imperial City, near the bridge, and find out that this particular wine is missing from her collection. She needs at least six bottles.

You can find a rare drink in the following forts: Aurus (Orus or Aurus), Dirich (Dirich), Carmala (Karmala), Irony (Irony), Magia (Magic), Scinia (Tabernacle), Vlastarus (Vlastarus), and near Fort Grief (Vulture). In each of the listed locations there is a chest containing a couple of coveted bottles. Nerussa will pay 1000 coins for the first six collector's items, she will be ready to buy the rest for 100 coins each.

Addition. Brief description of the forts:

Fort Aurus: Level 1. Inhabits: mages, daedra
Fort Dirich: Level 1. Inhabits: undead
Fort Carmala: Level 1. Inhabited by: Vampires
Fort Irony: Level 1. Inhabited by: goblins
Fort Magia: 3 levels, flooded, from 3rd level you can return to 1st. Fort Magia > Fort Magia Memorials > Fort Magia Garrison Blocks. Inhabits: undead
Fort Scinia: 2 levels. Fort Scinia > Fort Scinia Hall of Legends. Inhabits: marauders, undead
Fort Vlastarus: Level 1. Inhabits: vampires, undead, wolves

Not far from the Wawnet Inn, in the town of Weye, you will meet the fisherman Alvin Merovald. Hear his story. The fisherman was getting the scales of the Rumare Slaughterfish for an alchemist and had almost saved up for a comfortable old age, but then one of these local barracudas almost chopped off his leg, and now he will not be able to fulfill the order. Will you do me a favor and get the remaining 12 scale samples for the poor fellow?

Your goal is found in the north of Lake Rumare. The task is not at all easy. These gills are killers in the truest sense of the word. Stock up on spells or potions of water breathing, life detection, health restoration and, preferably, shock therapy (fish have an increased vulnerability to electricity) and go for a swim! After suffering, you will kill a dozen leveled fish and get a dozen scales.

A pleased Alvin will thank you with a ring that grants water breathing and a bonus to athletics.

You can still talk to him, and if the ratio is above 70, find out that he keeps his savings in a locked chest. If you wish, you can steal this key from him or even kill the unfortunate one. For your atrocity, you will be rewarded with a piece of gold accumulated by a fisherman for old age.

You can get this quest in two ways.

First. On the body of one of the Nord bandits in Fort Strand, you will find an unusual mace called Rockshatter.

Second. After visiting Whitmond Farm north of Anvil, talk to Maeva the Buxom. She will tell you that her wretched husband, Bjalfi the Contemptible, ran away from her to join a gang of marauders, and took with him a family heirloom - a mace. She asks you to return the stolen. Head to Strand Fort to the east of the city. On the second level of the catacombs, you will meet the runaway hubby. There is nothing to talk about with him, deal with him and his friends and take away a valuable leveled weapon that has the ability to deal electricity damage, while at the same time making the enemy vulnerable to this type of magic.

After returning the relic to Maeve, you will receive a cash reward.

Low alcohol drinks

Ale, beer, mead and cheap wine are ubiquitous, sold in all taverns, popular among the common townspeople, and very fond of goblins.

There are practically no useful uses for these drinks, only cheap wine can come in handy in Namira's quest - in order for Namira's followers to recognize your hero as an "unattractive person". In the event that the Personality attribute is not very high, then drinking four bottles will be enough to achieve the desired result (attribute value of 20 or less).

Wines of Tamiki and the Surili Brothers

Quest TrainingAlchemy - Alchemy Training

Impressive selection of drinks

Wine is an amazing drink. It has everything - aroma, bouquet, texture... Cyrodiil specializes in wine production Skingrad, the vineyards of the brothers Surili and Tamiki are universally known and famous.

There are many different opinions among the townspeople and connoisseurs of this wonderful drink about which of the vineyards makes the best wine, but both of them undoubtedly deserve flattering reviews. The wine of the 415 vintage is considered very good (although few people can afford such a luxury), and the legendary 399 is solely due to its taste characteristics and is extremely difficult to find.

It is about the search for this rare wine that is discussed in the quest for learning alchemy. Upon reaching level 70 of the hero's alchemy skill, two specialist trainers, Ardaline (Ardaline) and Brotch Calus (Brotch Calus), give a tip on the master alchemist Sinderion (Sinderion), who will agree to train the hero only if he brings a bottle of wine from 399 years both vineyards, Tamiki and the Surili brothers. The problem is that the wine of 415 is still sold in some places, and the 339th can only be found. There are several revolving containers where this wine can appear, most notably at the hero's homes in Anvil and Skingrad, and the wanted bottles are definitely found in the following locations:

Newheim's Special Brew

Quest FGC03Flagon - Newheim's Flagon, Quest FGC03Thieves - Den of Thieves, Fame +1

After completing the Drunk and Disorderly quest from Azzan, head of the Anvil Fighters Guild branch, your hero receives a contract to eliminate the infamous gang of thieves in the city. It is necessary to find their lair, which is rumored to be somewhere nearby, for greater clarity it is worth talking to people. As a company, Azzan gives one recruit - already familiar to the hero Maglir (Maglir). Maglir will immediately be found in the hall of the Guild building, after which you can go to interview local residents.

From conversations with guards or townspeople about thieves (may need a promotion), it follows that some things were recently stolen from Newheim the Portly, and he asks everyone about them. Newheim is usually in his house or walking around the city, when he meets, he will tell you that the gang is probably hiding in the Hrota cave (Hrota) north of the city. Newheim also mentions the stolen family jewel, the Countess, and says that he will be very grateful to anyone who can help return the thing (in this case, a new separate quest "The Countess of Newheim" appears in the journal). Now you can go to the cave with Maglir, not a single step behind the hero.

Many Bosmer thieves are found on the spot, and so that Maglir does not interfere, it is worth using the trick in the dialogues and leaving him at the entrance to the cave. The Newheim Family Jewel is on a table at the east end of the cave. After receiving a message that all the thieves are dead, you can return to Azzan for earned gold (the amount depends on the level of the hero) and an increase in fame. You also need to go to Newheim to return his decanter and get a reward - three bottles of special beer.

Rosethorn Mead

Quest HouseServant - Helper (Helping Hands)

And honey is a success today, my lord ...

To decorate his mansion in Skingrad, Rosethorn Hall, the hero should purchase furniture from the Colovian Traders.

After acquiring the furnishing of the servants' quarters, Eyja, a very nice northerner who is waiting for who knows what in the same shop, asks the hero about a job for her. For 150 gold, she agrees to enter the service at Rosethorn Hall. But if your hero does not have 150 gold, then Agea will agree to less.

The maid is most often in the basement in the servants' rooms, and also walks around the house. If the hero buys the kitchen furnishings, then new topics appear in the dialogues with the maid - about food and drinks, and Agea will provide the hero with endless shepherd's pies and rosethorn honey.

Shadowbanish Wine

Quest SQ08 - Ancient Wine (A Venerable Vintage)

So you came here for wine?!

After visiting the Wawnet tavern in the settlement of Weye, located west of the Imperial City, your hero learns that the owner of the tavern, Nerussa, collects various wines, and of course, she asks the hero to find 6 bottles a rare wine of exorcising shadows for a very decent reward. This wine was created long ago by an alchemist-winemaker especially for the soldiers of the Legion who served in the forts when they were still functioning - it warmed the sentries on cold nights and helped them see better in the dark. The only thing Nerussa knows about wine is that it is found in the ruins of forts scattered throughout Cyrodiil.

It may also happen that the hero accidentally comes across wine somewhere before this conversation, in which case a message will appear about the found unusual "Shadow Expelling Wine", and that it would be worth finding out more about it. In order to find out more, you need to talk with Nerussa. Wine can be found in ten places:

  • Fort Aurus - a single-level fort to the northeast of Bravil, inhabited by sorcerers;
  • Fort Vlastarus - a one-level fort to the east of Skingrad, inhabited by vampires;
  • Fort Grief - a two-level quest fort east of Bravil, not available to the player until started quest Hunters and game (Caught in the Hunt), and the chest with wine is not in the fort itself, but on the top floor of the ruins;
  • Fort Dirich - a one-level fort between Skingrad and Chorrol, inhabited by the undead;
  • Fort Irony - a single-level fort southeast of Bravil inhabited by goblins;
  • Fort Carmala - A single-level fort south of Chorrol inhabited by vampires;
  • Fort Magia - a two-level fort to the east of the Imperial City, inhabited by the undead;
  • Fort Scinia - a two-level fort to the east of Cheydinhal, inhabited by marauders and the undead;
  • Frostcrag Spire- a tower to the east of Bruma from the official Wizard's Tower plugin;
  • Battlehorn Castle - a castle west of Chorrol from the official Fighter's Stronghold plugin;

The desired wine is found in chests (two bottles each) inside the above forts, with the exception of Fort Vulture. In addition, the contents of these chests are updated every three days. As soon as your hero has 6 bottles of wine in his inventory, a message will appear stating that it is time to return to the Waunet tavern to Nerussa. At the meeting, she pays 1000 gold for the delivered wine and says that if the hero finds some more bottles in his travels, then she will purchase them for 100 gold each.
